Simon Bachleda / Managing Partner, Revelstoke Capital Partners. Simon is an avid skier, former ski racer, husband and father of three. Resides in NYC, works in Colorado and skis wherever there is snow. He is Managing Partner of Revelstoke Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on investments in healthcare and business services.
Mauricio Benavides / CEO, Imparable Capital. Mr. Benavides is a social entrepreneur with his latest venture as Founder of Imparable Capital and Switch. Prior to that he was the COO for Revworldwide an institution focused on providing financial services to the underserved including international payments, mobile payments retail financial services across the globe. Prior to joining Rev Mauricio Co-Founded Sitewit, a technology company focused on PPC bid management and behavioral analytics, was CEO of Bancotel a Ditribution Hotel Company based in europe and Vice President at General Electric. Through his 8 year career at GE he rotated through GE Capital, Plastics, Healthcare, Appliances, GE Corporate and International. Mauricio served for three years as the national co-leader for the GE Hispanic Forum and sits on several boards in areas of finance, real estate, manufacturing, food distribution across different countries. He is a social entreprenuer investing in companies that can make a difference in the world such as Mi Tienda, Revworldwide and is now working in a program to identify talented Mexican youth and improving education in Mexico. Mauricio holds a Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from ITESM Mexico and an M.B.A in Entreprenuerial and Finance from The Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell. He is passionate about entrepreneurship, and education.
Nicholas Besobrasov / Managing Member, Alupka Asset Management. Nick is the senior portfolio manager for all private accounts at Alupka Asset Management, a company he founded in 2000. He co-managed the Alupka Absolute Return Fund, LP, a long/short equity fund for 11 years (2001-2011). He skis out of Alta Snowbird and Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole and lives in Encinitas, CA. Nick serves on the Board of the Friends of Alta, a conservation and environmental foundation. He also serves on the Board of the Swiss based Aiglon College Alumni Association, where he attended high school from 1975 – 1977.

Leslie Jackson Chihuly/ President and CEO of Chihuly Studio and Chihuly Workshop. As President and CEO of Chihuly Studio and Chihuly Workshop, Leslie Chihuly’s primary role is to ensure ongoing organizational strength to assist artist, Dale Chihuly in realizing his vision. Leslie plays an active role in her community, serving as Chair of the Seattle Symphony and member of the Pilchuck Glass School Board. She graduated from Vassar College with a BA in English and holds a Masters in Int’l Studies from University of WA. Leslie is an avid skier, flutist, pianist, and singer.

Liz Cronin / Professional Recreator. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I ventured south down I-5 to the University of Oregon. After visiting and acquiring numerous credits from from a variety of departments, I graduated with an English Degree. I was quickly told by my mother I couldn’t support myself on a teacher’s salary and to get my Real Estate license. I did, I was successful at peddling homes, raising a kid and volunteering for various charities and auctions in Portland. In 2009, I decided to venture east to Colorado for the 2009/2010 ski season. I’m still in Vail, visiting Oregon. Now I’m recreating, meeting new people and involved with fund raising for Friends of Vail Mountain Rescue. I’m single and ready to mingle.

Ana Ferris / Construction Manager, Ferris Development Group. Ana is a native of Spain and grew up in Panama Republic of Panama.She has a MBA in International Business from Loyola University. Ana is a Construction Manager at Ferris Development. Prior to that Ana was an Associate Director of Sales for Phase Forward and an International Marketing Specialist for Latin America at Genzyme Biotech. Ana is the mother of four children: Isabella, Alexandra, Juliana & David II.
David Ferris / CEO, Ferris Capital LLC. David is the CEO of Ferris Capital LLC, a Family office, Registered Investment Advisory firm serving over 100 families in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and London. Ferris Capital manages over $500M in client capital on a discretionary basis. Prior to founding Ferris Capital, David was a Senior Vice-President of Investments with Merrill Lynch. While at Bank of America /Merrill Lynch, David ran a team that focused on ultra-high net worth families and institutions, and was consistently ranked as one of the top performers in the company. David also serves as the CEO of Ferris Development, a company he originally established to manage his personal and commercial real estate holdings. Ferris Development, owns and manages approximately 1 million square feet of Class-A office space outside of Boston. David earned a BA from Boston College, and a J.D. from Loyola University of New Orleans School of Law where he served as a member of the College of Law Visiting Committee, as well as board member of the university for over 12 years. David is currently a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

My eventual parents met on a road trip with mutual friends to Sun Valley in the late-1950’s. When they finally got around to teaching me to ski at age 4, they came to rely on the rope tow as “daycare” until I could chase my brothers around mountains for years. Now, they are tailing me. In the meantime, plenty happened on the hill. Ask me for my story on the chair, and let us ski until we can ski no more!

Mr. Griggs oversees a team with representatives located in the U.S., China, Israel, India, Russia, Japan, South Korea, South America and the Nordic and Baltic regions. Previously, Mr. Griggs served as Senior Vice President of New Listings and Capital Markets in the US and Asia for Nasdaq. During this time, Mr. Griggs attracted some of the highest-profile IPOs and transfers to Nasdaq. He is a graduate of Denison University in Granville, OH.
Michael Halstead / President and CEO, Yachtstore, Ltd. Has been racing and partying at the DISC since 1985. Miracle I’m still ambulatory:-) Divide time between our homes in Sun Valley and Vero Beach. Other hobbies include fresh and saltwater fly fishing, cycling, climbing, and really bad golf. CEO of Yachtstore.com, a leading international luxury yacht charter provider. Doing trek to Mt. Everest base camp this October to prepare for DISC.

Tom Huang, Board Member, 2017 Co-Chairman; Ann Campbell / Tom and Ann live in Brooklyn with their 14 month old son Macallan. Macallan is already an avid skier and is vying for a spot on the 2038 US Winter Olympic team. Tom attended his first Directors’ Cup in Whistler in 2003 and has attended every one since then. Tom is a partner at a private equity firm in New York City, focusing on investments in consumer products and communications services companies. Ann is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and Forrest Yoga Instructor. She works at The Rockefeller University where her health practice focuses on adult and geriatric medicine, travel medicine, and integrative health.

KK is a Board member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation and the LA Sports and Entertainment Commission and a member of the National Advisory Council of the US Ski and Snowboard Association. Mike was born and raised in Sun Valley, Idaho and grew up ski racing for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation. After a brief stint as a professional mountain bike racer, Mike moved to New York in 2008 to begin his ‘real’ career with Lehman Brothers (impeccable timing!). Mike now lives in San Francisco, CA and serves as a Principal at Sageview Capital, a technology-focused growth equity firm with $1 billion under management.
Bob Mccooey / Senior Vice president, NASDAQ. Robert H. McCooey, Jr. is a Senior Vice President of Nasdaq’s Listing Services unit. He is responsible for New Listings as well as Relationship Management with Nasdaq’s 3,500 listed companies in the Americas and throughout Asia Pacific. Previously, Mr. McCooey ran New Listings and the Capital Markets Group at Nasdaq. In this role, Mr. McCooey managed Nasdaq’s new listings efforts domestically, in the Americas and throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Her practice is focused on assisting consumer-oriented and/or retail oriented technology companies with go-to-market strategies, business development, and startup growth services. Her 20-year career includes executive management for Sears, Bed Bath and Beyond, Saks and Nambe’. She is an innovation-for-hire consultant for global retailers such as Media-Saturn (Germany), E-Mart (Korea), Boots (UK), Gallerie La Fayette (France) and Uniqlo (Japan). In addition, Jen serves as a consultant, board advisor and independent board member or executive for multiple companies. Her board commitments include FLUID and Lifefactory Inc., (Former CEO-now moved to the board). She acts as an operating partner for Venture groups which have portfolio companies with consumer, retail and emerging IOT technologies. Jen and her family reside in Tiburon, California. Andy Nadel, Board Member / Director of Sales, Brinson Benefits. I grew up in Scarsdale New York, and my family had a home in Mount Snow, Vermont where I learned to ski at the age of 3. There is nothing I enjoy more than making turns on a beautiful day in the mountains. Later I ski raced as a kid in the Northeast. After college in Burlington, Vermont, I moved to Dallas, Texas to start a career in corporate insurance. After building and selling several insurance firms, I now help Dallas-based Brinson Benefits expand throughout Texas. I married my beautiful wife Doris in 1991, and we discovered Telluride that same year. We have enjoyed spending our winters and summers in the beautiful San Juan Mountains. In the winter, we average 50 ski days a year; in the summer we try to hike the mountains of Telluride every day. We enjoy the outdoors, golfing, skiing, hiking, biking, yoga and traveling to lesser-known destinations like Telluride. Along with DISC, my other passion is running a charity golf tournament in Dallas which benefits underprivileged kids. We consider both Dallas and Telluride our home.

He currently works for Equinix leading field marketing for the Americas. Eric lives in Tiburon, California.
Anne Phelps / Marketing Strategist, Olympian Consulting/UNFPA. Partner, Olympian Consulting. Market strategy and branding concentrating in public private partnerships and social impact investing. Anne’s education and background are in romance languages, international relations, and law with an MBA from Syracuse University. She has served on the Executive Boards of Pacific Northwest Ballet and Youth in Focus, as well as chaired various capital and annual campaigns for Seattle Opera, Epiphany School, Lakeside School and Seattle Academy. She presently is a Trustee of Friends of United Nations Population Fund for Women and the Seattle Arboretum Foundation. She is an Executive Producer of the film SOLD and co-founded and serves as a Trustee of Stolen Youth. Anne loves mountain and water sports, including skiing, sailing and scuba diving. She also plays tennis and does yoga. She loves to cook, garden and always enjoys her gregarious friends and family.
Barry Porter / Managing General Partner, Clarity Partners. Barry loves to ski. He, his wife, and three children spend as much time in Park City, Utah as they can. Barry is an active private equity investor and is currently a member of the Office of the Chairman of T+ink and on a number of other boards including NYSE REIT Hudson Pacific Properties. Barry is also involved with International Medical Corps, the premiere global relief organization. Barry enjoys being on the winning team at the Directors Cup!
Ben Press / Partner, Primary Wave Entertainment. Ben Press is a partner at the theatrical, literary & music management/production company Primary Wave Entertainment. Prior to PWE, Ben founded the talent & literary agency Fortitude. in his 25 year career as a talent rep., Ben headed the talent dept. at Paradigm Agency and spent a decade at International Creative Management (ICM) where he started his career under the tutelage of legendary agent Ed Limato. Ben is a native Manhattan-ite and graduate of Middlebury College. He lives in Pacific Palisades, CA with his three children, Georgia,11, Weston, 14, and Jared, 17.

Shawn Riegsecker founded the company in 2001 intent on building software to eliminate operational inefficiencies, solve growing complexity and fragmentation challenges, and help marketers make smarter decisions. Since then, as CEO, he has built Centro into one of the largest providers of media operations software and managed services in the industry. His leadership, commitment to innovation and modernized approach to culture and employee happiness have led Centro to receive many accolades, including No. 1 on Crain’s Chicago Business’ Best Places to Work for four years in a row (2011-2014). John Roa / CEO, ROA Ventures. John Roa is an award-winning entrepreneur and innovator in the start-up technology and lifestyle markets. His latest venture, ÄKTA, was fully acquired by Salesforce Inc. in September, 2015. Today, he focuses on early-stage investments, projects and experiments in Chicago, Los Angeles and London. Outside of work he is an avid traveler (over 50 countries), philanthropist, competitive poker player and animal lover.

In this role, he is responsible for leading business development efforts in international listings across all sectors. Jordan is an avid skier, has attended the DISC more than 6 years, and is an annual contender for “The Untamed Spirit”award.
Michael Schutzler / CEO, Washington Technology Industry Association. Michael Schutzler is an entrepreneur, engineer, science geek, and first generation immigrant. He is the CEO of the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA). Before joining the WTIA, Michael led the merger of Livemocha – a community of 17 million language learners – with the popular education software company Rosetta Stone. He has helped found businesses with exits totaling over $200M and built new product and services within large businesses with sales of over $300M. He has founded businesses ranging from consulting, B2B SAAS, board games, pizza franchises, and others. He and his companies have been featured in the Wall St. Journal, Associated Press, Crain’s Chicago Business, The Chicago Tribune, and a variety of other publications. He regularly writes columns on innovation and entrepreneurship for outlets including Fortune and Forbes. Erik has won a variety of awards, including a Chicago Innovation Award, Moxie Award (Best Business to Business Startup), Direct Marketing Associations 40 under 40, Top 50 Northwestern Startup Alumni, and cover stories in Crain’s Chicago as well as Biztech Magazine. KEVIN STONE, Board Member / Orthopaedic Surgeon, The Stone Clinic. Kevin R. Stone M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon at The Stone Clinic and the Chairman of the Stone Research Foundation. He has lectured around the world as an expert in cartilage and meniscal growth, repair and replacement. Dr. Stone has pioneered new ways to address biologic as opposed to bionic (artificial) joint replacement. He and his clinic (The Stone Clinic in San Francisco) developed the first collagen scaffold for re-growing the meniscus cartilage, the first techniques for replacing the meniscus in an arthritic knee, the first method to humanize animal tissue for use as ligaments in ACL replacement, the first stem cell cartilage paste graft for re-growing articular cartilage inside injured joints, and the first glucosamine beverage for joint health. His work has led to multiple awards, publications, grants, approximately 50 issued US patents and initiated multiple start-up companies. Dr. Stone is a weekly feature columnist for the San Francisco Examiner. As an orthopaedic surgeon, he has served the U.S. Ski Team, the U. S. Pro Ski Tour, the Marin Ballet, the Smuin Ballet, the modern Pentathlon at the U.S. Olympic Festival, and for the U.S. Olympic Training Center. He was trained at Harvard in internal medicine and orthopaedic surgery and at Stanford in general surgery. His sports and knee fellowship was with Richard Steadman in Lake Tahoe.

He is a two-time Norwegian ski champion and a five-time NCAA champion for the University of Denver. After retiring from skiing, Otto became a partner at Montgomery Securities and TWP; he is currently the managing director at Stifel International Group. He is also the proud grandfather of a preschooler and twin toddlers.
